Honor kicked off Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2026 with a keynote and the reveal of the Magic V6, its flagship folding phone. During the presentation, they showcased the specs, improved cameras, AI functionality, and teased the future of Honor devices with their concept robot phone.
Their biggest flex (har har) continues to be the Honor Magic V6, which once again proved itself as an incredible device for both tech nerds and, finally, the mainstream audience at large.
Presenting the device was Jamie Cooper, sales director at Honor. Right away, it's clear where Honor places their emphasis: The Magic V6 is slim beyond belief. On stage, as Cooper pulled the phone out of his pocket, it would have been easy to think it was just a regular slab device.
It's no wonder this thing marches into the limelight with an early IF Design Award for 2026. Honor does love their accolades.
But the pride comes with good reason. Once you start to rattle off everything the Magic V6 packs inside, it's hard to think of anything else that could compare, at least on paper.
For example, the Magic V6 already has the 24-hour TUV Rheinland certification for an unfolded device. That means, in theory, the Magic V6 has longer battery life than the iPhone 17 Pro Max even when unfolded, which is always the biggest battery draw.
This makes its size, at just 8.75mm, and the world's thinnest foldable phone, even more impressive.
According to Cooper, to achieve the incredible thinness, Honor worked hard to ensure they removed nothing from the device. Instead, each port underwent a thorough redesign, and the battery – a comfortably large 6660mAh one – now has 25% silicon content.
It is what Honor calls a Silicon-carbon blade battery, which means an incredible thinness-to-density ratio. In this case, 921 Wh/L, which Honor says is a generational leap in battery density.
For those of us who run our phones hard in everyday use scenarios, this sounds like a dream come true.
Another area where Honor has worked wonders is durability. It's the major Achilles heel of foldables, which, despite being in the spotlight for almost a decade, are still perceived as fragile and likely to break from even a minor drop.
According to Honor, that too is a thing of the past. The Honor Magic V6 features a next-level hinge rated at 2800 MPa, which the company says is even stronger than that found in a Tesla. It has industry-first IP68 and IP69 certifications for dust and water resistance, both of which are absolutely welcome for something like this.
Thanks to this, Honor claims the Magic V6 is 10x more drop-resistant and 15x more scratch-resistant. Honor says the hinge is rated for over 500,000 folds and unfolds, or approximately 5 years of continuous use. Bold claims, all.
The inner display has improved as well, with a 44% decrease in crease depth. The device also supports a stylus on both the outer and inner displays. How this will work in terms of scratches and wear is still uncertain, but I look forward to trying it out.
Everything else is at the high level of quality that Honor has pushed to the forefront over the past few years. The screen reaches up to 5000 nits of brightness and features 4320 Hz PWM dimming to eliminate eye strain. As someone prone to headaches and issues with long periods of tech use, I find this more than welcome and something I already praised endlessly in my Honor 400 review.
Cameras promise upgrades with a 64MP telephoto and a 1.5-inch telephoto sensor. It was odd, though, how quickly Honor's presentation breezed past anything related to the visual creation side, considering how heavily they emphasized future partnerships with ARRI and their Robot Phone.
Here's hoping that once I get my hands on a review unit, I can give the Magic V6 a longer run for Vlogs and video editing.
As with the MagicPad 4 and MagicBook Pro 4, Honor once again emphasized their integration with Apple's ecosystem and how well Honor Share functions across platforms and operating systems, these integrations are the single biggest selling factor for me as a content creator, and I can't wait to see them in action.
The Magic V6 has no price or release date yet for the European market, though we should hear more soon, as the word is Honor wants it out in the second half of the year.
