4K Blu-ray review: Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning
★★★★ | The film itself is a mess, but there's no denying how great it looks and sounds in 4K. Extras are great, too. This one is a keeper.
Region Free
Night Visions: Incomplete Chairs
★★★★ | The best kind of horror film: Horrifying, gross, and uncomfortably funny.
Death by Lightning
★★★★ | Michael Shannon and Matthew MacFadyen impress in this very fictionalized story that skewers American exceptionalism.
Night Visions: Gangland (Keep Quiet)
★★★★★ | Superbly written and directed, Keep Quiet is a brilliant showcase for the incomparable Lou Diamond Phillips, who delivers one of the best performances of the year.
Night Visions: Flush
★★★★ | Chaotic and in deeply bad taste, Flush is a bleakly funny nightmare of absurd proportions.
Night Visions: Bulk
★★★★ | Wheatley and his cast are having fun, and sometimes the audience is, too.
Predator: Badlands
★★★ | Breezy and fun with a magnetic performance from Elle Fanning, Predator: Badlands is a good enough addition to the franchise.
The Witcher: Season 4
★★★ | After a slow start, The Witcher: Season 4 finds its own rhythm and grandeur that reminds us why this show was so good in the first place.
Bugonia
★ | Thoughtlessly mean and cynical, Bugonia is another tiresome Lanthimos film about bad people doing bad things to pointless ends.
4K Blu-ray review: Sunset Boulevard
★★★★★ | A barebones release of an all-time classic.
Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere
★ | A reductive and painfully stilted biopic that hits every cliche imaginable.
IT: Welcome to Derry
★★★★ | Terrifying and exciting in equal measure, Welcome to Derry is one of the scariest horror shows in years, and a fantastic expansion of Stephen King's masterful universe.
